Description

Temperature-Controlled Ventilation for Outdoor Electrical Enclosures

The SXDOOL SXDE1238MB KITS kit is designed for electrical cabinets, PLC panels, industrial automation enclosures, telecom cabinets and other equipment housings that need forced-air ventilation. It combines a 120 × 120 × 38 mm EC fan with a curved rain hood, a separate SXD011 mechanical thermostat and one 1.5 m US-style power cord.

Key benefits

  • Complete temperature-controlled kit: includes one fan-and-rain-hood assembly, one SXD011 mechanical thermostat and one 1.5 m US-style power cord. Confirm supply compatibility and final field wiring before energizing.
  • Outdoor-ready hooded layout: the curved hood helps shield the ventilation opening from direct rain; install the inlet facing downward.
  • EC12038 airflow package: standard fan reference is 3,000 RPM, 126 CFM fan-only reference airflow, 5 W rated power, 8 W maximum power and 44 dBA operating-noise reference. Actual airflow and sound vary with the cabinet, mounting and surroundings.
  • Mechanical temperature switching: SXD011 uses a 0–60°C setting scale to switch cooling on/off as cabinet air warms. It does not display temperature or change fan speed.
  • Clear fit references: 125 × 125 mm panel cutout, 105 × 105 mm fan-hole centers, 154 × 153 mm hood face and approximately 115 mm overall installed depth.
  • Service-friendly design: leave clearance for wiring, filter service, fasteners and a separate outlet.

The 3,000 RPM, 126 CFM, 5 W, 8 W and 44 dBA figures describe the fan under their reference conditions. Actual installed airflow and sound change with the hood, filter mat, guard, cabinet layout, outlet, distance and system pressure drop. Overall installed depth is approximate; confirm wiring and service clearances for the final cabinet.

Applications

  • Outdoor PLC and industrial automation cabinets
  • Electrical control panels and machine control boxes
  • VFD, inverter and power-control enclosures
  • Telecom, networking and edge-equipment cabinets
  • Solar or battery equipment enclosures, subject to enclosure and thermal review
  • Retrofit projects with a matching 125 mm panel opening

Installation notes

  1. Confirm the 125 × 125 mm panel cutout and 105 × 105 mm fan-hole centers before cutting.
  2. Mount the hooded fan in the upper-middle area where the inlet can face downward.
  3. Place SXD011 inside the cabinet where it senses representative air, away from the direct inlet stream and local hot spots.
  4. Provide a separate outlet so air moves through the cabinet instead of recirculating around one opening.
  5. Connect the included 1.5 m US-style power cord only after confirming supply compatibility, wiring, clearances, filter access and final installed airflow.

Package contents: one fan-and-hood assembly, one SXD011 thermostat and one 1.5 m US-style power cord. The cabinet, a second passive outlet, DIN rail and field electrical connection are not included. Separate 4,000 RPM and 5,000 RPM fan builds may be available by inquiry; higher speed produces more noise and is not a selectable speed mode.

FAQ

What is the SXDE1238MB KITS kit used for?

It provides temperature-controlled ventilation for outdoor electrical enclosures, control cabinets, PLC panels, automation equipment and telecom or network cabinets.

What is included with the kit?

One fan-and-rain-hood assembly, one SXD011 thermostat and one 1.5 m US-style power cord. The cabinet and a second passive outlet are not included.

What cutout does the hood require?

The reference panel opening is 125 × 125 mm. Fan-hole centers are 105 × 105 mm and the hood face is 154 × 153 mm. Confirm the final installation template before cutting.

Does the SXD011 thermostat change fan speed?

No. SXD011 is a mechanical on/off cooling switch. Its dial sets a switching point; it does not display current temperature or vary fan RPM.

What is the noise level?

The standard fan is specified at 44 dBA as an operating-noise reference. Actual sound varies with mounting, distance, cabinet, filter condition and airflow path.

Is the 126 CFM rating the installed cabinet airflow?

No. 126 CFM is the stated fan-only reference. Hood, filter, guard, cabinet openings and pressure drop determine installed system airflow.

Is a second exhaust outlet included?

No. The package includes one fan-and-hood assembly, one SXD011 thermostat and one power cord. A separate outlet is required for a complete airflow path.

Can the kit cool below ambient temperature?

No. It exchanges cabinet air with surrounding air. It is a ventilation system, not refrigeration or air conditioning.

Is the rain hood itself an IP56 or NEMA rating?

Do not infer a complete enclosure rating from the hood alone. Final protection depends on the hood, gasket, filter, fan, cabinet, orientation and tested assembly.
